The chemistry of Duke and Maureen is, in my opinion, unsurpassed on the silver screen. I devoted an entire web page to that special chemistry that pretty well says it all from my point of view. Last May, Maureen journeyed to Winterset, Iowa to the John Wayne Birthplace Museum, where she was honored by over 1,000 guests as she offered her support of the museum for her dear friend, John Wayne. It was quite a celebration. She celebrated her 93rd birthday at her new home in Boise, Idaho near her grandson and his family. That was her final appearance and she is now happily at home enjoying her family. I talk to her several times a week. She’s quite a gal and I’ve been so privileged to have her as a friend.
