These are the ladies who will be in the next round of matches to narrow them down to a winner of each category:
FUNNY LADIES/GIRLS NEXT DOOR
ROSALIND RUSSELL VS. LUCILLE BALL
SINGERS/DANCERS
JUDY GARLAND VS. RITA HAYWORTH
Personally, the Roz & Lucy match is the toughest one for me so far. I both adore them so much…. good luck to all!
Oh, wow. Roz & Lucy. That’s TOUGH. Technically I think Lucy is funnier, but for “all around”, Roz wins out for me.
Now that we’ll soon be down to 16 overall, this stage is a battle of the titans. Russell vs. Ball, Garland vs. Hayworth, Lombard vs. Loy, Dunne vs. Rogers, Monroe vs. Leigh, Day vs. Reynolds — it’s as if they were 50 feet tall, waging colossal catfights Japanese monster moviemakers would envy! (Okay, there are the ’60s stars, too, but their aura is somewhat smaller.)
Hello I came across your blog while looking for the classics.
its superb blog.

Roz ftw! Always Roz, because Life is a banquet
I agree with Jess… I mean, I love Lucille Ball, but Roz wins because no actress will ever out-perform her Auntie Mame and Mama.
